Tasting notes
Barolo is noted for its deep garnet color with orange hues as it ages. Its complex aromas include hints of faded roses, violets, and deep fruit layers such as cherried syrup and cooked plums, creating an elegant and broad aromatic profile.
On the palate, Barolo offers a robust structure, encompassing a dry, full-bodied experience with velvety, austere textures balanced by red berry and blackberry flavors.
It's a wine that not only maintains but improves with age, often requiring several years of aging to fully develop its flavors and soften its tannins.
Food pairing
Barolo pairs exceptionally well with rich, intense flavors such as roasted and braised red meats, game, truffled dishes, and hard aged cheeses.
Its complexity also makes it suitable for use in high-end culinary preparations, including long-drinks, or enjoyed on its own as a sophisticated aperitif.

The Prestige of Barolo
Barolo, often referred to as the "King of Wines," is one of Italy's most prestigious wines, made exclusively from the Nebbiolo grape in the Piedmont region, particularly in the Langhe area. The denomination covers several communes around the town of Barolo itself.
Known for its rich history and stringent production standards, Barolo was one of the first wines to achieve DOCG status, Italy’s highest classification for quality. The wine is deeply tied to the region's terroir, with Nebbiolo grapes thriving on the fog-covered slopes that give the grape—and the wine—its name ("nebbia" meaning "fog" in Italian).
