Tasting notes
Dogliotti 1870’s Barbaresco boasts an intense garnet red color with orange reflections, typical of Nebbiolo wines as they age. It presents a complex and rich bouquet, ethereal yet profound, with aromas of cherry jam, cinnamon, vanilla, and violets.
On the palate, it is full-bodied yet velvety and harmonious, with a well-balanced tannic presence and a subtly bitter aftertaste that enhances its long finish.
Food pairing
Barbaresco pairs exceptionally well with rich, flavorful dishes such as egg pastas, risottos, roasted and braised red meats, grilled dishes, mushrooms, and mature cheeses.
It can also serve as a sophisticated base for creating complex long drinks, or be enjoyed by itself as a luxurious aperitif.

The Elegance of Barbaresco
Barbaresco, like its neighbor Barolo, is one of the most prestigious wines produced from the Nebbiolo grape in Italy's Piedmont region, particularly in the provinces of Asti and Cuneo.
Unlike Barolo, Barbaresco is known for its softer tannins and more approachable style, which is attributed to the slightly different microclimate and the fertile, nutrient-rich Tortonian soils of the area. These conditions allow for faster maturing of the wine, which typically means Barbaresco can be enjoyed sooner than the more robust Barolo.
Barbaresco was granted DOCG status in 1980, recognizing the unique qualities of this wine, which is produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. The wine must be aged for a minimum of two years, with at least one year in wooden barrels, making it not only a testament to traditional winemaking but also to the patience required to produce each bottle.
Viticulture and Vinification
The Barbaresco wine from Dogliotti 1870 embodies the tradition and quality expected from this renowned appellation. Sourced from vineyards that are ideally positioned to receive optimal sunlight and drainage, the Nebbiolo grapes are nurtured to full maturity, carrying the distinctive characteristics of the region directly into the bottle.
